Today we introduce the coupling service combined with the sale of leather and I talk to you about the main options. I’ll explain the advantages that will make you grow in quality and productivity.

“Serving the needs of others is the only legitimate business today” is one of the best known quotes from  A.P. Giannini, the founder of Bank of Italy today Bank of America. Although the Italian-American tycoon said it in the 30s of the last century, it is increasingly relevant today.

In fact, it is necessary to provide the customer with all the complementary elements to the intrinsic object, such as information that provides a history of how it is made, about who made it and the whole range of accessory services connected with the product itself, in order to offer to customers, not only the product but also the solution to the problem that led him to seek it.

In my case, I thought it necessary to complement and support the sale of leather with the offer of some services to make easier and better  footwear, small leather goods, bags, suitcases and leather garments.

One of the most basic activities related to the world of leather processing is the bounded of leather with materials of various kinds, as well as with other leather with lining use.

The function of the bounded can be to give resistance to the leather, to give a better sensation to the touch and support to the model. In order to obtain a better result it is necessary to know the final need and the type of leather used: with the right experience it is therefore possible to choose the purchase of materials that ennoble the work and obtain a product of excellence.

Bounding can be done on the piece of leather already cutted and ready for sewing or on the whole leather still to be cutted. This second option offers significant time savings during processing and above all provides adhesion and a much more industrial quality suitable for a product of excellence.

The main types of bounding can be summarized in the following materials, used with different thicknesses.

The ecological alternative to leather, as a lining, but with very similar peculiar characteristics such as breathability, lightness and resistance that make it particularly suitable for use in footwear, leather goods and clothing. Used as a reinforcement, it maintains its qualities unaltered, giving the final article body and stability and at the same time lightness, obtaining a combination that can be immediately cut and sewn.

Reinforcement textile

It is possible to couple the leather with a wide range of reinforcement textiles from jersey to drill cotton, using adhesive resins that best adapt to the various needs to strengthen and support the product, especially where there is more risk of breakage at the moment of the processing.

Non-woven fabric

Available with various thicknesses ranging from mm. 0.5 to mm. 2.0, at a definitely reduced cost which allows, however, to achieve the objective of reinforcement and support

Particularly soft regenerated leather available in thickness ranging from mm. 0.25 to mm. 2.0.

It is an ecological and non-toxic product that is used among others in footwear and leather goods.

It is possible to couple the main leather from the outside, directly with the lining leather, to obtain savings in processing and materials. The lining can be calf, goat or pig, you can see some options on our website.

In the next articles we will introduce many other processing services around the world of leather: pleating, digital printing, embroidery, the application of pallets and laser engravings.
